Jacob Bratcher is a tenth-generation native Tennessean, first-generation college graduate, and proud South Carolina transplant. He is a graduate of Motlow State Community College (A.S. in Biology 2014), Lipscomb University (B.A. in History 2016), and the University of Georgia (M.A. in American History 2020) as well as a proud alum of Phi Theta Kappa and Phi Alpha Theta honors societies. His academic and research interests include Christianity in the South post-WWII including the King James Version Only movement; the so-called Malaise Era and decline of the American automobile industry; educational and career outcomes among student-athletes; and the intersection of public policy and public higher education. In his spare time he enjoys watching his favorite British comedy show Mock the Week on BBC2; driving stick-shift and antique cars; reading nonfiction; watching Community on Netflix; and following his favorite sports of college football, horse racing, and college basketball.
