Community Interest Courses Begin Jan. 13

The University of South Carolina Salkehatchie is pleased to announce the return of its popular community interest courses program, offering a wide variety of engaging and educational classes for adults ages 60 and older starting January 13, 2025.  These courses provide a wonderful opportunity for adults to learn new skills, explore their interests, and connect with others in a fun and relaxed setting.

This semester’s course offerings include:

  • Yoga:
    • Tuesdays: 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. (Walterboro)
    • Mondays: 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. (Allendale)
  • Bird-Watching (Spring 2 Walterboro):
    • Wednesdays: 5:15 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.
  • Culinary Exploration (Spring 1 Walterboro):
    • Wednesdays: 5:15 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.
  • Apple Bytes and Bits:
    • Tuesdays: 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. (Walterboro)
    • Thursdays: 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Allendale)
  • Salkehatchie Stories:
    • Mondays: 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. (Allendale)
  • Line Dancing:
    • Mondays: 9:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. (Williston)
    • Tuesdays: 9:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. (Salkehatchie Allendale Campus)
    • Thursdays: 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. (Allendale)
  • Mindfulness In Everyday Life:
    • Online - Wednesdays: 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.

All courses are free to residents of South Carolina who are 60 years of age or older.
