The Department of Religious Studies made a global curriculum change effective 2014-15, reconfiguring the course structure to more directly reflect a progression of accomplishment to guide Religious Studies majors from introductory to intermediate and advanced courses. The current BA requirements are:
One Prerequisite course (currently a choice of two)Two courses at 200 introductory levelThree courses at 300 intermediate levelTwo courses at 400 level or aboveOne Capstone course (RELG 488 offered each spring)
The faculty are working on increasing the number of available courses for students at both the 200 and 400 levels to provide adequate course offerings for students to easily achieve the requirements for their degree. This course number and description change are part of this overall plan to move some current courses into the 400 level.

We would have no objection to this. Would you be willing, through your office, to also submit course change forms to match the RELG and JSTU numbers for the course, both at the 400 level. It could be anything other than JSTU 491 and 492, which are already taken.
I’ll sign anything that needs signing.
Please ask Dr. Roberts to expand on the points to be made.
Thank you for submitting your proposal to the Committee on Curricula & Courses. We appreciate your patience and commitment to undergraduate and graduate education.
