The word psychopathology has fallen out of use in the field of psychology because it is a pejorative term and it causes groups of people to live with a stigma. Therefore, we are following current trends within the field and eliminating this term from the course title for PSYC 726. Psychological Problems and Resilience more accurately reflects the wide range of problems which people face without ascribing a label which is widely considered to be harmful.
PSYC 410 is an undergraduate-only course, and should not be considered a formal prerequisite for this graduate course.
Please include Learning Outcomes on the syllabus. See Graduate Syllabus Requirements at http://gradschool.sc.edu/forms/GC_SyllabusGuideline.pdf
Per your request Mary Ann.
Revised and resubmitted. Thank you for your patience!
Is anyone likely to take this class as a pass/fail? If so, is a passing grade of D a reasonable expectation for a graduate student?
Per discussion with Humanities Committee/Graduate Council, proposal now includes a change to STANDARD LETTER GRADES ONLY.
