The craft beer industry has seen tremendous growth in the last forty years. Today more than 3,400 breweries are responsible for the beer brands available in the Unites States, with 99% fitting the Brewers Association definition of small and independent craft brewer.
The craft beer industry contributed $55.7 billion to the U.S. economy in 2014, while providing more than 424,000 jobs, of which more than 115,000 were directly at breweries and brewpubs (Brewers Association, 2015c).
Craft beer is a vital part of the beverage industry, which is a key component of hospitality and tourism.
