Re: Justification for deleting courses ANTH 335 and ANTH 545
As part of our “rationalization” of the Anthropology course curriculum, we are proposing to delete two courses. ANTH 335 has not been taught in at least 20 years, and no current faculty desire to teach it. Similar content can be covered with our Ancient Civilizations course. ANTH 545 has not been offered in over 20 years. All graduate students in the Anthropology Department Historical Archaeology path take ANTH 745, as do students taking the Historic Archaeology/Cultural Resources Management certificate. Undergraduates take ANTH 345. Therefore it is not needed.
