A comparative examination of such topics as ritual, cosmology, revitalization movements, magic, witchcraft, myth, and possession. Cross-listed Course: ANTH 206
Kenneth G. Kelly, Professor, Chair, Department of Anthropology, initiated the change: Anthro is in the midst of trying a “rationalization” of our course offerings to make them more accessible to as broad a range of undergraduates as possible. To that end, we would like to renumber one of our RELG cross listed courses. The course is: RELG 360/ANTH 352 to ANTH 206

Ken, That sounds fine. We'll go ahead and renumber the course on our end as well; we could use a few more 200-level offerings. I'm copying my admin assistant, Mardi McCabe. Could you or Cat please be in touch with her about this? I'm not on campus right now, and Mardi will have a better sense than I do as to what number we should use in RELG. James

Over here in Anthro we are in the midst of trying a “rationalization” of our course offerings to make them more accessible to as broad a range of undergraduates as possible. To that end, we would like to renumber one of our RELG cross listed courses. The course is:
RELG 360/ANTH 352 to ANTH 206
If RELG wishes to retain the 300-level numbers for the RELG x-list, that is fine, but we feel that if numbered at the 200-level, they will be more accessible to a wider range of students. The content of the courses will not change.
If you agree with this, an email to me and Cat Keegan (copied) would suffice.

NOTE: This proposal is related to the one for ANTH 352/RELG 360, changing the ANTH course to 206.
Once both proposals are approved, the changed courses will be ANTH 206 = RELG 260.
Dear Mary Ann,
The Palmetto College Campuses faculty have reviewed the proposed changes and have no objections to the proposal.

The Department of Anthropology is reorganizing many of their undergraduate course numbers. Two of their proposals affect courses taught at the Lancaster campus.
ANTH 307 Cultures of Africa is proposed to be renumbered as ANTH 236.
ANTH 352 Anthropology of Magic and Religion is proposed to be renumbered as ANTH 206.
No other changes are proposed to these courses.
Does Palmetto College have any concerns or objections?
