The justification for changing the name of the course is that "Neurophysiology" is a more accurate description of what we'll cover in the class than "Neurobiology". We're not covering the entire field of neurobiology; instead, we will be focusing on how neurons function and how they can be assembled into circuits to accomplish simple tasks. Also, changing the name to "Neurophysiology" will help distinguish the course from other courses in the department that cover neurobiology, including new ones on molecular neurobiology and the neurobiology of disease that are being taught be other new faculty members.
Please address changes as discussed in the Curricula & Courses meeting -- Monday Sept. 12
The approval of BIOL 635 will be taken to the November 2016 Faculty Senate Meeting.
