SPAN 312, 375, 380A, 380B, 400, 401, 500, 518, 524, 534, 538, 543, 555:
The proponent should provide consistent wording to the prerequisites for these courses. In particular, is there a minimum grade (some list C+ or better, other do not). I'd suggest removing the language about undergraduates; the "or consent of the instructor" would cover all graduate (and transfer?) students.
I'm forwarding to C&C. They can decide the appropriate action to be taken; I'll be happy to make any necessary changes but want to point out that I don't see that any change has been entered in APPS. In fact, when I checked the Bulletin, at some of these courses already have the proposed pre-requisited listed for the course.
Is it necessary to have separate proposals for 380A and 380B? At the least, delete the duplicate 380A/B proposals (one each). If they are separate, then eliminate A or B from the Bulletin description. But even more perplexing is the fact that I can't see any changes for any of the 380A/B proposals. The justification suggests that there should be a change to the prerequisite, maybe?
Thank you for submitting your proposal to the Committee on Curricula & Courses. We appreciate your patience and commitment to undergraduate and graduate education.
