SPAN 309 has been deleted. The new SPAN 303 replaces it.
SPAN 312, 375, 380A, 380B, 400, 401, 500, 518, 524, 534, 538, 543, 555:
The proponent should provide consistent wording to the prerequisites for these courses. In particular, is there a minimum grade (some list C+ or better, other do not). I'd suggest removing the language about undergraduates; the "or consent of the instructor" would cover all graduate (and transfer?) students.
I'm forwarding to C&C. They can decide the appropriate action to be taken; I'll be happy to make any necessary changes but want to point out that I don't see that any change has been entered in APPS. In fact, when I checked the Bulletin, at some of these courses already have the proposed pre-requisited listed for the course.
Is it necessary to have separate proposals for 380A and 380B? At the least, delete one of the 380B proposals. If they are separate, then eliminate A or B from the Bulletin description. But even more perplexing is the fact that I can't see any changes for any of the 380A/B proposals. The justification suggests that there should be a change to the prerequisite, maybe?
Thank you for submitting your proposal to the Committee on Curricula & Courses. We appreciate your patience and commitment to undergraduate and graduate education.
