How to recruit, lead, and collaborate more effectively in international teams by examining differences related to culture, work-values, economic climate, and career progression.
MGMT 431, Intercultural Competencies for Working in International Teams, is concerned with helping to undertand the basis on which culturally different 'others' operate in internatoinal teams. Business people often interact with culturally different colleagues, competitors, suppliers, and government officials, who all operate with their own set of rules, which are driven by differences relate to culture, work values, economic climate, and career progression. This course aims to provide tools to help the course participants develop intercultural literacy in recruiting, leading, and collaborating in international teams. Other than developing 'soft' skills, the course covers intercultural survey skills, multi-group comparison, and presentation skills as used by management consultants.
