Currently JOUR 361 is taught with 3 sections, the lab is separated from the lecture, but they both have the same CRN number. The three lecture sections meet at the same time, therefore they sections are cross-listed. This is creating a problem when it comes to course evaluations, the same professor does not necessarily teach both the lecture and the lab. In class climate it is combining both instructors in the same course evaluations and makes it difficult to determine how the instructor is actually doing in the course. We would like to have the lab component separate from the lecture with JOUR 361 and JOUR 361L.
In order to create two separate courses, JOUR 361 (lecture) and JOUR 361L (lab), will be needed. On this current proposal, please indicate the revised content for the lecture portion (ex. 2 credit hours, revised description, etc.). Then create a New Course Proposal (NCP) for JOUR 361L with information pertaining to the lab component (ex. 1 credit hour, lab course description).
Please note that Course Change Proposals submitted after 12/31/2016 will be added effective Fall 2018.
