An introduction to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Topics include the nature of workforce diversity and inclusion, practices that enhance diversity, inclusion, and effectiveness, and approaches for building inclusion.
It is undeniable that the world is more diverse. The increase in diversity requires a greater appreciation of diversity, a greater understanding of how to work in diverse environments, and how to build inclusion. This course fills an important gap in our current undergraduate offerings because it teaches students how to build inclusion in a diverse workplace. Given the cultural changes we are experiencing in the workplace, introducing this course will be important for building new capabilities for our students.
