Foundational techniques and tools required for data science and big data analytics. Concepts, principles, and techniques applicable to any technology or industry for establishing a baseline that can be enhanced by future study. Prereq: STAT 509, 513, or 515
This is a simple clerical wording change so that the STAT 587 course description matches the CSCE 587 description. The phrasing "technology or industry" is more correct.

Yes, since you are changing your STAT classes to match ours, you will need to do the APPs course-change submission. Thanks!
Also, with this email I confirm that the CSE department concurs with the changes to STAT 582 and STAT 587, namely to change them so they match CSCE 582 and CSCE 587.
You can add that concurrence statement to your submission.
Thank you for submitting your proposal to the Committee on Curricula & Courses. We have approved the proposal and are moving it forward to the Faculty Senate. It is recommended someone from the department attend the next Faculty Senate meeting in case there are questions from the floor regarding your proposal.
We appreciate your patience and commitment to undergraduate and graduate education.
