Internship in government agencies, private-sector businesses, and non-profit organizations under the joint supervision of sponsor and departmental. A maximum of three credits may be applied to undergraduate Geography major or to Geography master's degree. May be repeated to a maximum of six credits.
Some students and/or sponsors desire a learning experience that can range from only 1 to 6 credit hours. The current minimum is 3 hours. We would like to change the minimum hours to 1 and the maximum hours to 6. The course description needed clarification to include non-governmental agencies as well as government and industry. Eliminating the pass/fail option is deemed very desirable for the sponsors and department to maintain the quality of the course.
Thank you for submitting your proposal to the Committee on Curricula & Courses. We have approved the proposal and are moving it forward to the Faculty Senate. It is recommended someone from the department attend the next Faculty Senate meeting in case there are questions from the floor regarding your proposal.
We appreciate your patience and commitment to undergraduate and graduate education.
