Providing the course online will allow the department to offer larger sections and allow more students to complete the course. Because the course will be offered in summer, more students will have access because they will not be required to be on campus. The course materials incorporate basic accessibility features, provide for appropriate learning activities and allow for appropriate interaction.
Please ensure there is a written Memorandum of Understanding concerning course copyright.
Comments for EXSC 201
The INDEV committee has reviewed EXSC 201 and requests a few minor revisions prior to approval.
The application has the Pass/Fail option selected so will need to explain what the pass/fail option is in the grading breakdown, or, if selecting “Pass/Fail” was unintentional, then it will need to be changed to “Standard Letter Grade Only” in APPS.
- There is a statement located in the Expectations of the Instructor section regarding timely feedback provided on assignments but statement could be more specific about turnaround time.
-An assignment breakdown would be beneficial – number of discussion board posts, etc.
-The Final Exam accounts for 10% of final grade but the assignment description states that it will count as 1 quiz grade. 4 quizzes at 20%, 5% for each quiz grade. The committee found this confusing, please revise for clarity.
Feel free to contact me with questions: firstname.lastname@example.org
Please revise proposal and check "Change to Course Delivery Only". If you wish to make a change to the grade mode, going from standard grade with pass/fail to standard grade only, this change will not take effect until Fall 2020.
Please address ther comment from the Registrar.

INDEV committee comments for EXSC 201:
There are two minor revisions that the committee is requesting before final approval.
1). In the Assignments section of the syllabus, it would be useful to provide the weights/percentages for the various types of assignments--there are 15+ assignments worth a total of 50% of the course grade, and students may not be clear on how much each counts towards the 50%. One assumes that the fourteen discussion board posts & responses, the reflection, the two review questions, and the four Wiki posts all have different weights, but it’s not clear what they are.
2). The attendance policy does not have a clear grade penalty for not being “present.” Please define what that will be.
If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me at email@example.com
INDEV has asked for two changes (see their comments). I believe you may have already spelled out the weights in the Grades section. You only imply the penalty for attendance by referring to the grade section. Please explicitly spell out what the penalty is for attendance and check whether you can/should do more to address INDEV's first comment.
