ECHE 456 is being added as a required course for the B.S.E. in Chemical Engineering (Program Change Proposal has been submitted). Since this course was previously taught only periodically as an elective, it did not have an official pre-requisite or co-requisite. Based on its content, students should have taken or be concurrently taking MATH 242 when they enroll in ECHE 456.
Based on recent experience, the Provost's Office will reject this without a letter of concurrence from the Department of Mathematics.
While you have it back, please add "grade of D or better" to the prereq.
Thank you for submitting your proposal to the Committee on Curricula & Courses. We have approved the proposal and are moving it forward to the Faculty Senate. It is recommended someone from the department attend the next Faculty Senate meeting in case there are questions from the floor regarding your proposal.
We appreciate your patience and commitment to undergraduate and graduate education.
