This course is offered in our MSP program, face to face, as well as in our MCD program (distributed education). Likely due to oversight on our part, this course was not previously approved for delivery through distributed education. We wish to retain the original face-to-face course (COMD 750), and add the same course (content-wise) to our distributed education program (as COMD J750).
We submit the change to the grading system, as that appears to be in line with current standards.
We hope it will be possible to approve this for the Summer 2019 term (following advice from the Scheduling Coordinator at the Office of the University Registrar). Thanks for your consideration.
We have made the changes to the syllabus required by the Office of Distributed Learning
Since Standard Grading was selected (Letter Grades with Pass/Fail option) , you need to state what constitutes as a passing grade.
The syllabus must include the Academic bulletin description.
Identify any prerequisite(s). If there is no prerequisite, note that no prerequisite is required.
You must include the following statement: “All learning outcomes in this Distributed Learning course are equivalent to face-to-face (F2F) version of this course.”
After the required texts, include the following: “All readings/materials comply with copyright/fair use policies.”
Clarify the communication/feedback turnaround time on emails, assignments, etc.
After the technology requirement, identify the minimal student technical requirements/skills needed to successfully complete the course.
Change “Office of Student Disability Services” to “Student Disability Resource Center.”
Change to Course Delivery effective Spring 2019; All other changes effective Fall 2020
Update will appear in the 2021 Graduate Bulletin to be published 2.15.20.
