Students must meet both the number of credits and distribution of technique requirements listed above; some techniques courses are variable credit.
To graduate with a major in dance, students must successfully complete DANC 302 and DANC 312.
The change in technique credits for students majoring in dance education aligns with the responsibilites of dance educators in K-12 public school environments. The change in required courses will allow students to develop the expertise needed to fulfill these responsibilities.
The total number of credits for the technique requirement was not correct in the current bulletin. Currently, the total number of credit hours for the technique component within this concentration is 16 hours, not 15 hours. That is why the number of credit hours was indicated in the revised program proposal.
