The Academic Team prepares our members for academic competitions on regional and national levels. More importantly, however, we create an open environment in which members can discuss all topics with their peers and form relationships that can last a lifetime.
Active Minds at USC is a student run non-profit organization that promotes mental health awareness, education, and advocacy. The group is designed to utilize peer outreach in conjunction with the counseling center to increase students’ awareness of mental health issues and symptoms of mental illness, provide information about available resources, encourage students to seek help as soon as help is needed, and to serve as a liaison between students and the mental health community. By promoting awareness and education, Active Minds at USC aims to reduce stigma that surrounds mental illness and create an open environment for discussion of mental health issues.

Bedsider created the In the Wild college program to help students get on top of their sex life. College is a crazy, busy, wild time, and we’re here to make sure students understand their birth control options so that they’re able to keep the balance of school and social life without the addition of an unplanned pregnancy.
Black Box is a multicultural theatre ensemble that aims to provide an artistic outlet that expresses the influence of African American writers, actors, and artists of the past, present, and future. Furthermore, it intends to manifest the idea of a "New Romanticism." That is to examine and display art centered on issues impacting black communities (sexism, colorism, addiction, violence, homophobia, etc.) without glorifying these problems. In doing so it will combat three ideas sometimes displayed in modern theatre: art is for art's sake (the idea that art is not political); art is only about inner angst; and middle class values and images are the only positive representations.

By participating in First Robotics Competitions students and volunteers get an opportunity to learn new skills, build a robot, make new friends and, most importantly, have a lot of fun. Active participants get hands on experience with designing, programming, manufacturing/machining a robot. Such skills are valuable in today's job market. Also soft skills like team work, leadership, and communications are developed along the way.

Off-Off Broadway is the musical theater club. We produce at least two shows each year, a musical revue in the fall, and a full-length musical in the spring. All of the production work and performing is done by students, but you do not have to be a member of the club in order to audition for a show. We go as a group to see local musical productions and watch movies. We're also looking into finding performance outlets outside of USC, such as community events or competitions.

Project Dance is a student-run organization which meets once a week for an hour and a half. We focus on contemporary, jazz, and hip hop; but we've also included some Latin ballroom, pom routines, modern ballet, and Zumba! Each week, one or two members of the club come with about a minute long routine of their choice/choreography to teach to the group. We also do warm-ups and across the floor at the beginning. Project Dance is a fun way for dancers to learn new routines outside of a formal class setting. Project Dance is now offering a team for performance opportunities in the community for those interested. We meet every Tuesday from 8:30 to 10:00 PM in Strom 127!
