Prof. Jiang Liu in LLC was recently selected from a highly competitive applicant pool of early- and mid-career scholars to participate in the U of SC-National Science Foundation Institute in Measurement MEthodology in Rural Stem Education (IMMERSE). He will learn and work with scholars in multiple disciplinaries (e.g., Psychology, Education, Statistics, etc.) to develop sound measures and design high quality studies on STEM literacy in rural areas. Jiang hopes that his expertise in linguistics and language acquisition can help to translate research into real pedagogical practices for students in rural areas.
