Dean search updates
Darla Moore School of Business: This search will begin in August and is being co-chaired by Hossein Haj-Hariri and
Toni Torres-McGehee. The search website has been updated with the search committee members.
College of Education: On-campus interviews with finalists for the search will begin in early September.
Dates and locations for the candidates' forums with the campus community can be found
on the search website.
Graduate School: Cheryl Addy has been selected as interim dean of the Graduate School. The search
for a permanent dean will begin in the coming weeks.
University Libraries: David Banush has been selected as the dean of University Libraries, effective Nov. 1. This concludes a successful national search.
OIRRA website updates
The Office of Institutional Research, Assessment and Analytics (OIRAA) has refreshed and reorganized its website this summer. In particular, you can more easily find SACSCOC accreditation documentation, institutional effectiveness data including IPEDS and state agency accountability reports, and student assessment procedures.
The biggest enhancement is the addition of data dashboards to provide accessible and interactive reports on enrollment, degrees awarded and workforce for each institution and the entire USC system; these dashboards provide intuitive visualizations but can also be downloaded in spreadsheet format. Table Generator is still available for additional queries. Of course, you can also submit a data request if you need a tailored report not provided through the other OIRAA resources.
Students invited to attend 'Imagine Carolina'
Undergraduate students will be invited to participate in ‘Imagine Carolina: Shaping our student experience together’ on Sept. 11 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. USC President Michael Amiridis is hosting this one-day retreat to engage with student perspectives and help create the best possible South Carolina experience.

First Year Reading Experience author to visit campus
Dr. Jennifer Eberhardt, author of the first year reading book “Biased”, will be on campus September 13, 2022. There will be an opportunity for faculty, staff, and graduate students to sign up for small group discussions during the day although space will be limited. All are invited to join the incoming freshman class for a presentation by Dr. Eberhardt at 6 p.m. in the Koger Center on September 13, 2022.

The Fall 2022 General Faculty Meeting will be occurring on Sept. 7 at 3 p.m. in the Koger Center for the Arts. All faculty are encouraged to attend.
