Background

Mary Robinson is Professor of Art and Head of Printmaking at the University of South Carolina. She received a BFA in Studio Art from the University of Colorado, an MA in Art History from the University of Wisconsin, and an MFA in Printmaking from Indiana University.

Her work has been exhibited in galleries, museums and art centers throughout the United States as well as in Australia, Denmark, England, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and South Korea.

In 2007 she was invited to be one of three Resident Artists at the Hong Kong Graphic Arts Festival.
She has attended residencies at the Frans Masereel Centrum in Kasterlee, Belgium; the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, VT; Hambidge Center for Creative Arts and Sciences in Rabun Gap, GA; and Mustarinda Art and Nature Centre in Hyrynsalmi, Finland.

Robinson’s grants and awards include: USC Provost Creative and Performing Arts Grant; USC Arts Institute Grant; USC Research and Productive Scholarship Award; Fulbright-Hayes Study Abroad Project in Korea; Associate Faculty Grant from Indiana University-South Bend; Vermont Studio Center Artist’s Grant; and Doctoral Student Grant-in-Aid of Research from Indiana University-Bloomington.
