You'll cap off your studies by taking two high-level courses in media ethics and criticism, honing your critical thinking skills and ability to analyze situations independently.
You'll have the opportunity to land internships in all communications fields, building on the broad range of classes you can choose from. Recent experiences include students working at daily newspapers and broadcast TV stations. And these are just some of the many opportunities for our students.
You'll learn the basics of the communication industry, and you'll have the ability to choose from classes in all other journalism fields, including print, broadcast, advertising, public relations and visual communications. Students learn from seasoned pros like Dr. Andrea Tanner, a former TV reporter and anchor who specializes in how the media can be used to change health behaviors. And they learn how to do the right thing from Dr. Shannon Bowen, who prepares them to make ethical decisions in the workplace. Classes also have a long list of outside experts who help guide students to success.
