Faculty from the College of Information and Communications are leading two trips to Iceland: one for Honors College Students and one for Capstone Scholars.

For Honors College Students

A Photographic Expedition

Students will gain an understanding of mobile photography and video for travel and storytelling grounded in communications strategy. Students will be taught to disseminate their experiences digitally while abroad using social media tools. The course will focus on composition and critical thinking, students will be encouraged to use smartphones as their cameras or to bring their own DSLR.

For Capstone Scholars

Introduction to Information Literacy and Technology

This course (SLIS 202) introduces students to the basic information technologies used in all types of information organizations and the essential concepts and skills needed for information literacy. 

This 3-credit course is appropriate for students interested in information literacy and technology.  This course fulfills the Carolina Core INF requirement.  There are no prerequisites for the course.

When: May 11 – June 18 (Trip May 10 – May 23)
