The School of Information Science has made a significant jump in the U.S. News & World Report 2025 rankings.
The Master of Library and Information Science program is now ranked No. 16 in the nation, making it the second-highest ranked program in the SEC — a climb from our previous position at fourth in the conference.
Even more impressive are the national rankings for the school’s specialty areas, both of which have achieved top-five status:
- School Library: Ranked No. 5 nationally and No. 1 in the SEC.
- Children and Youth Services: Ranked No. 5 nationally and No. 1 in the SEC.
“These outstanding achievements reflect the unwavering commitment, passion, and excellence of our faculty and staff,” says iSchool Director Lyda Fontes McCartin. “Their dedication to our students and the field of library and information science continues to drive our upward momentum.”
The iSchool will continue to build on this milestone and strengthen its programs.
