On January 24, 2020, over thirty community members from Fairfield County, South Carolina met with University of South Carolina faculty and staff. The group came together to collaborate and discuss how to build a stronger community.

Attendees represented a vast array of careers and professions including commerce, industry, education and policy. Throughout the session the group identified resources and developed a timeline of goals that extend over the next two years.

The group was very excited and energized as they look to the future.

Jon Pedersen, the Dean of USC’s College of Education was excited about this work, saying. “Thank you, Fairfield County community members and USC Faculty and Staff, for working to transform the lives of children, families, schools and communities in which they live and learn!”
