What will I study?
This 100% online degree program is composed of 33 credit hours of course work. The courses are fully aligned with the South Carolina requirements for the School District Superintendent certification; completing the degree program will qualify you to receive the certification. If you go on to a doctoral program, program hours from this degree can generally be counted toward that program.
- 12 credit hours concentrate on the various aspects of school district leadership including finance, instruction, policy, and facilities.
- Another 12 credit hours directly address the superintendency and include a district based internship experience.
- A nine-hour cognate and one research course make up the balance of the 33 hours.
The program is geared toward those school leaders who aspire to work in any district-wide leadership positions and is required for those serving as a superintendent.
