Your course work

As an Early Childhood Education major, you will learn how to teach math, science, social studies, reading and writing in early childhood education settings. Your courses will include play and early learning, classroom management, family dynamics and culturally relevant teaching. You may be placed in a school setting for hands-on education as early as your first or second semester, where you will gain important experience with infants, toddlers, preschoolers and K-3rd graders in a variety of educational settings.

Ultimately, you will learn how to effectively engage children in learning experiences while also helping them build cognitive skills such as attention and memory, motor skills like balance, and social skills, including peer interaction and group participation.
