Special Education and Behavior Analysis

The College of Education offers several programs geared to improving the impact you can have on all students, including those with disabilities, and those who are gifted and talented.

Whether you are seeking an undergraduate degree, someone changing careers or already a certified teacher, you can complete a Special Education degree. The Special Education programs at the University of South Carolina are designed for anyone who wishes to get involved with helping students with disabilities.

Our Programs

Programs include a bachelor of arts program, master’s degrees, and a Ph.D. program. You will be able to specialize in many different areas of special education including multi-categorical, severe and multiple, behavior analysis, leadership and more.

Those seeking to become a special education teacher and are not yet a certified teacher, will be interested in the B.A. or M.A.T. in Special Education, leading to teacher certification.

Current teachers looking to add special education certification may complete the M.Ed. in Special Education. If you are interested in becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA®), you would pursue our M.Ed. in Applied Behavior Analysis.

For researchers or those hoping to prepare the next generation of special education professionals, as well as those interested in holding district positions, there’s a track for you in our Ph.D. program

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
