The Award
Two $1,000 awards given annually. One award will be given to a graduate student who is an instructor of record. One award will be given to a gradate student who is a GTA/lab instructor.
One award given in each category:
- Humanities, Social Sciences, Education or Related Professional Programs
- Science, Mathematics or Related Professional Programs
2020 Winners:
- Louis Berrios, Biological Sciences
- Dieng Rokhaya, Comparative Literature
Instructor of Record Nominations
As part of the nomination packet, Graduate Directors will be required to submit:
- Teaching evaluations from Spring 2019 and/or Fall 2020 semesters
- One-page teaching philosophy
GTA/Lab Instructor Nominations
As part of the nomination packet, Graduate Directors will be required to submit:
- One-page teaching philosophy
- One-page letter from a faculty member who can evaluate the nominee’s teaching
- Student evaluations are optional
Multiple Nominees
Programs may only nominate up to two candidates.
Deadline
The deadline for 2021 will be announced no later than January 2021.
