Gracie is an alumna of the University of South Carolina where she earned her bachelor’s degree in English in 2019 and Master of Arts in English in 2021 with a focus in Global Contemporary Literature. Her Master’s thesis was on Ben Lerner’s novel 10:04 and imagining alternative futures beyond capitalism.

Gracie worked as a Peer Writing and Communications Tutor at UofSC’s Student Success Center where she tutored undergraduate students with various writing assignments. She also taught undergraduate students History 101 and English 101 and 102 as a Graduate and Teaching Assistant throughout her Master’s program. These experiences culminated into a passion for working with undergraduate students and helping guide them through their academic and personal journeys. Gracie values cultivating meaningful relationships with students and ensuring that in a large environment like UofSC, they feel seen, heard, and supported in this new and exciting time in their life.

After briefly teaching high school in the Columbia area, Gracie is incredibly excited for the opportunity to return to UofSC and continue working with students, faculty and staff through the SCHC. When she is not advising students, she enjoys binge-watching The Great British Baking Show, working on home improvement projects, and reading--let her know if you need a good book recommendation!
