Each year the South Carolina Honors College recognizes our exceptional alumni for their professional achievements, leadership and contributions to society. These awards are presented at the Honors College Homecoming Reception.
Is there an Honors College graduate who you believe should be recognized for their contributions to the Honors College or to their broader community? We encourage you to nominate a peer or yourself for recognition using our Nomination Form. This form is used for all award nominations.
Nominations for our alumni awards are accepted all year. The nomination deadline for this year is Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Nominations received after this deadline will be held for consideration for next year’s awards.

2025 Distinguished Honors Alumna Sheila Cregger is a 1978 graduate with a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration. She and her husband Morris own plumbing and HVAC supplier the Cregger Company. The company boasts over 70 locations in eight states and supplies customers in 40 states.

2025 Distinguished Honors Alumnus Creighton Waters graduated from the Honors College in 1992 and the Joseph F. Rice School of Law in 1996. He serves as the Chief Attorney for the State Grand Jury section of the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office. During his career he has earned many accolades including an Ernest F. Hollings Award for Excellence in State Prosecution in 2011.

2025 Distinguished Young Honors Alumna Molly Doggett is a 2012 McNair Scholar graduate. After law school she joined Covington & Burling in D.C. where she was promoted to Special Counsel. Before attending law school, she worked for a sole practitioner attorney where, as a member of the International Human Rights Clinic, she attended negotiations at the United Nations in support of the Nuclear Ban Treaty. The treaty passed in 2017, earning a Nobel Peace Prize for the partner organization Doggett’s clinic team supported.
