As a member of the South Carolina Honors College, you are in the process of joining—with the successful completion of your degree—nearly 10,000 South Carolina Honors College alumni. You are invited to become part of this accomplished community of leaders in virtually every academic discipline; in medicine and health, law, the arts, business, engineering, non-profit agencies; and in just about any life endeavor you can imagine. The Honors College staff and the faculty who teach our courses are dedicated to your success. Our goal is to challenge you and enable you to make the absolute most of your gifts and opportunities. We take great pride and pleasure in the work of the Honors College.
The goal of this handbook is to provide you with guidance toward enhancing your degree with the recognition that you are graduating from the University with honors from the South Carolina Honors College. Please read through this handbook to become familiar with what’s included here and keep it handy. We imagine that you will likely want to consult it throughout your college career.
