What drew you to the field of medicine?

When I was young, I spent many years in and out of the orthopedics unit of my local children’s hospital. One of the main things that kept me motivated and hopeful through my repeated struggles was the kindness and empathy exhibited by the doctors who treated me. Since then, it has always been my goal to help children heal in the same way that I was helped, and work to make their lives happier and healthier.

What are your future plans?

After medical school, I plan to enter into a surgical residency program and pursue Pediatric Orthopedics, eventually, spending my career working in the children’s hospital in my hometown that I grew up attending as a child.
