Background

Marianne Bickle serves as professor in the Department of Retailing for the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management. Bickle formerly served as director of the Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (BAIS) program and director of online learning for the college. She at one time was chair of the Department of Retailing as well, and under her leadership, the department was ranked second in North America for its scholarly research output.

Bickle's passion for and expertise in online learning are the driving forces behind her goal to assist students in earning their bachelor’s degrees. In addition to teaching online, Bickle conducts research in the areas of online learning, consumer satisfaction and retail sales. She has secured in excess of $8.5 million in funding from federal and industry research grants, private donations, gifts-in-kind and training grants.
