Evan Bohnen serves as the executive director of advancement for the University of South Carolina College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management. Bohnen oversees and works closely with the college’s alumni and external relations, corporate engagement and development programs to advance the mission, research, scholarship and ambitions of our faculty and students.

Bohnen has held leadership roles in higher education advancement for 25 years. Prior to coming to the University of South Carolina, Bohnen served as vice president for university advancement at Winthrop University. Prior to his leadership role at Winthrop University, Bohnen served as associate vice president for development at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). At IUP, Bohnen served as campaign manager for the Imagine Unlimited campaign, the university’s largest comprehensive campaign to date including construction of a new state-of-the-art $90 million science and mathematics facility opening in fall 2023.

Additionally, Bohnen has managed campaigns and built advancement programs at Marietta College, Radford University, Minnesota State University, Mankato and Virginia Tech.

Bohnen and his wife, Tonia, have twin boys, Grant and Alex, who are Eagle Scouts and rising high school juniors.
