About the Program

Families will learn easy strategies to implement at home that promote fine motor skills in their infants/toddlers who are blind or have low vision.

Participants will learn:

  • Importance of fine motor skills in early childhood education.
  • Learn importance of fine motor skills and how it relates to literacy development for children who are blind or low vision.
  • Learn simple strategies to promote finger strength and dexterity through fun household routines.

Target Audience: Families of infants and toddlers who are blind or low vision


About the Presenters

Ami Morrison

Ami has been a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) and Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS) for 32 years. She began her career with Perkins, where she served students in western MA for 19 years. Ami is now with ABVI and has been providing services in SC for almost 12 years. Ami resides in the Upstate with her husband and 3 boys, 2 of whom are attending Clemson…Go Tigers.
