Path to Residency

The final year of medical school is exciting and goes by quickly, but it can easily become overwhelming if students are not prepared. Outlined below is a comprehensive guide to assist fourth year medical students in the residency application process.

Applying for Residency

The Student and Career Services team is here to help you through the residency applications process and the transition into your residency program.

Your student services and faculty advisors will help you navigate the residency application process.

Application and Timeline (ERAS)

The Electronic Residency Application Service® (ERAS®) is the centralized online application service you’ll use to deliver your application, along with supporting documents, to residency programs.

View the ERAS Timeline for M.D. Residency for more information on the residency application process.

On average fourth year students are completing more than a dozen residency interviews. Being prepared can help the process go smoothly.

Required Documents

From your Medical Student Performance Evaluation to photographs, you will need to start preparing your residency application materials early.
