My School of Medicine Columbia

Faculty and Staff Virtual Town Hall scheduled for May 28

After we announced plans to host our Faculty and Staff Virtual Town Hall on Wednesday, May 27, we learned that President Caslen will be hosting a Virtual Town Hall on the same date and at the same time.

To ensure our faculty and staff can participate in both town hall meetings, the School of Medicine Columbia event will now be held on Thursday, May 28 beginning at 6 p.m.

The University of South Carolina recently announced that they will begin implementing a Return to Work Policy on June 1, whereby members of the UofSC faculty and staff will be slowly brought back to working on campus in a safe and coordinated manner over the next several weeks. This policy is posted on the UofSC website.

School of Medicine Columbia leaders are currently engaging leaders throughout the organization to create Return to Work plans for each area within the school. Department or area managers will be communicating plans for your area in the near future.

In addition, we want to provide an opportunity for all interested faculty and staff to participate in a Virtual Town Hall, at which our human resources leaders can share information about this plan and can address questions that you may have. This event has been scheduled for May 28 (Thursday) from 6 to 7 p.m. Faculty and staff will be receiving an invitation to attend this WebEx event via email. Questions can be submitted in advance via the form on this page. Participants also will be able to submit questions during the event via the Q&A icon in WebEx.

"I could not be prouder of the commitment, hard work, and creativity exhibited by all of our School of Medicine family over the past two months," says Les Hall, dean. "We know that additional challenges remain ahead, but I am also convinced that we have a team that is up to facing those challenges and advancing all of our mission in the coming weeks and months."

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
