Dear School of Medicine Columbia faculty, staff and students,

On May 7, 2021, members of the Class of 2021, their families, and School of Medicine Columbia faculty and staff gathered to celebrate the amazing accomplishments of our graduates at the hooding ceremonies for our Graduate and Medical Student Programs.

Given the unprecedented circumstances that accompanied this year’s commencement, every aspect of these events required new approaches that ensured a safe environment while truly highlighting the accomplishments of our graduates. Our 2021 hooding video captures many memorable moments from these events. 

I want to express my sincere thanks to Samantha White, Amber White, Dr. Eric Williams, Dr. Frank Spinale, the leaders of our graduate programs, and the entire SOMC team that supported them in planning this celebratory day. I believe this video conveys the deep sense of pride that we all feel toward this graduating class, who overcame so many challenges to reach this point.
