The Office of Information Technology has general recommendations for purchasing computers. OIT employees also can aid in the purchase of a work computer.
The Office of Information Technology (OIT) operates and maintains the School of Medicine's data networks and telephone system. OIT provides desktop support for School of Medicine computers and student laptops.
Blackboard is an online learning management system that allows instructors to develop and deliver course materials online. Instructors use Blackboard to post documents, assignments, quizzes and exams, to moderate discussion forums and more.
The school of medicine maintains its own Microsoft Exchange based email system that is accessible through Microsoft Outlook, as well as on the web and from mobile devices.
New Innovations is used by M-III/M-IV’s to log and track their patient encounters. Faculty also use the system to complete resident evaluations.
OASIS is an online course catalog and scheduling tool.
The VIP (Visual Information Processing) portal provides provides faculty and staff personal access to university data. You must have a valid USC ID number and PIN in order to login to VIP.

Data security is of the utmost importance to the School of Medicine. All employees are required to complete HIPAA training.
