Computer Recommendations

The School of Medicine Office of Information Technology recommends Dell laptops with at least a three year warranty. OIT Technicians can perform basic hardware troubleshooting and repair on Dell computers. With the Dell warranty, replacement parts can usually be obtained from Dell within a few days, and installed by our technicians.

We recommend any of the following Dell laptop product lines:

  • Latitude
  • Inspirion
  • XPS

General Hardware Guidelines

If you have already have a computer or choose not to purchase a computer listed above, these are the computer specs we recommend at minimum:

Processor: Intel Core i3 or better

Memory/RAM: 8GB or higher

Disk Storage Space: 256GB or more (Solid State Drive Recommended)
