AAMC Traffic Protocols

The University of South Carolina School of Medicine expects that all applicants comply with the AAMC Traffic Protocols.  In addition, applicants accepted to the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville must comply with the following procedures for the AAMC’s Choose Your Medical School (CYMS) tool.  Failure to follow this process will result in the application being withdrawn from our system.

CYMS Dates for the 2026-2027 Application Cycle

  MD Deadline
Reduce your Offers to 3 April 15, 2027
To meet this deadline, YOU MUST:
  1. Email to withdraw your application from all but THREE of your acceptances
  2. You may stay on as many Alternate Lists for other schools as you like
Plan to Enroll (PTE)
 April 30, 2027
To meet this deadline YOU MUST:
  1. Email to withdraw your application from all but ONE of your acceptances
  2. Ensure your CYMS* shows that you "Plan to Enroll" at the school you have chosen
  3. You may remain on as many Alternate Lists for other schools as you like if you have Plan to Enroll status at our School
Then, if you receive a NEW ACCEPTANCE from another school (i.e. from their alternate list), YOU MUST:
  1. YOU MUST email the program you did NOT choose to have your application withdrawn
  2. Ensure your CYMS* shows that you "Plan to Enroll" at the school you have chosen
Commit to Enroll (CTE) May 14, 2027 at 11:59PM ET
By this deadline, YOU MUST:
  1. Withdraw from all Alternate Lists (i.e. email those schools directly)
  2. Decline all other offers of acceptance (i.e. email those schools directly)
  3. Make sure your CYMS* shows that you "Commit to Enroll" at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville
Matriculation July 8, 2027

*Refers to the AMCAS Choose Your Medical School Tool (CYMS).

Alternate List Offers Students accepted after the CTE Deadline May 14, 2027

We will NOT make offers to individuals who have Committed to Enroll or Matriculated elsewhere. If you Commit to Enroll or Matriculate elsewhere you MUST email us to withdraw your application

Once you have accepted our offer, YOU MUST:

  1. Select “Commit to Enroll” to USC School of Medicine Greenville within 48 hours of acceptance
  2. Pay matriculation deposit by deadline listed in offer letter
  3. Withdraw from all Alternate Lists
  4. Decline all other offers of acceptance
