School of Medicine Greenville earns Apple Distinguished School recognition

The University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville has been selected as an Apple Distinguished School for 2022–2025. The School of Medicine Greenville was recognized for continuous innovation in learning, teaching, and the school environment.

This is the second consecutive Apple Distinguished School recognition for The School of Medicine Greenville (SOMG). SOMG was first selected as an Apple Distinguished School in 2020.

The School of Medicine Greenville is a different kind of medical school: Where the power to transform medicine is more powerful than any disease. Where curiosity breeds innovation and immersion drives understanding.

Technology propels learning each and every day at the School of Medicine Greenville.

It levels the playing field when everyone has access to the same innovative technology. It also helps the professors, knowing that everyone has the same technology, because then we can plan our sessions with the iPad in mind.

— Dr. Ann Blair Kennedy, assistant professor of biomedical sciences

Medical students at the School of Medicine Greenville are each provided an iPad — complete with AppleCare+ protection, ensuring students will have a working iPad for the full four years of medical school. In addition, faculty are provided an iPad and a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro. Technology is used across the campus, including Butterfly iQ ultrasound probe used with iPad in the Prisma Health Simulation Center for ultrasound training. Thoughtful integration of technology in the classroom and clinical environment refine the learning experience and empowers collaboration at SOMG.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
