The information you submit electronically or otherwise as part of the Darla Moore School of Business Scholarship Application, including a resume and personal statements, will be made available for review and evaluation by members of the Moore School Scholarship Committee or designated subcommittee and the Moore School and University of South Carolina faculty and staff involved in the review and evaluation process.

The Moore School depends on the generosity of donors who believe in the value of a Moore School education. Donors appreciate hearing from the students who benefit from their generous support and this communication helps donors understand the positive impact of their philanthropy. As a result, all award recipients, as a provision for receiving assistance, are expected to write a thank you letter/impact statement to their donor(s) and meet with their donor(s) when requested.

All Moore School students who accept scholarship assistance are asked to release potentially confidential personal and educational information to their donor(s). Such confidential information includes, but is not limited to, the student’s high school, hometown, intended major, academic standing, information related to award amount(s), and impact statements.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requires a student’s consent to disclose personal and educational information to any individual. Students may grant their permission to release their educational information.  By submitting this application, you are agreeing to provide donors with the requested information.

By filling out the information in this application, you acknowledge that:

1. I have read and understand the statement above and hereby give my permission to the Moore School to disclose information provided in my scholarship application to individuals involved in the Moore School scholarship selection process and to my donor(s).
2. I consent that this release will remain in effect until revoked by me in writing.
3. I agree to submit a letter of appreciation/impact statement for my donor(s) and meet with my donor(s) when requested. I also give my permission for my photograph to be released for use in any publicity surrounding the award(s) received.

All Moore School scholarships will post to the student accounts and will show on Self Service Carolina.  Due to processing deadlines, the scholarship will most likely not show until approximately one week before bills are due for the semester.
