Conducting Symposium

New this summer!

June 21–27, 2020

The School of Music is pleased to inaugurate a Summer Conducting Symposium for choral conductors. The course will offer three levels of participation:  auditor, conductor (for CEU credit), or conducting fellow (for graduate course credit). 

Course features include: choral literature and score study, applied conducting lessons and conducting master classes, culminating in a performance at the end of the week with the UofSC Summer Chorus. Courses for wind conductors will also be offered, with opportunity for collaboration across disciplines.  Faculty for the week include: Dr. Alicia W. Walker, Dr. James Meaders (UK), and Dr. Tonya Mitchell-Spradlin.
