Gamecock Pharmacist | Fall 2020
In this issue: UofSC researchers come together to develop and implement a saliva-based
diagnostic test for COVID-19, as the pandemic brings the role of the pharmacist to
the forefront. Julie Ann Justo’s interest in infectious diseases grows into an impactful
career at UofSC on a national and statewide scale. Brandon Bookstaver’s team tracks
treatment of the coronavirus and the long-term impact of the disease. The Leon and
Betty George Endowed Scholarship Fund honors a faithful alumnus and a parents’ love
of family and Columbia.
