College of Pharmacy

Degree Requirements

The Pharm.D./MHIT program at the University of South Carolina is designed to produce highly qualified professionals and leaders with dual expertise in clinical pharmacy as well as information technology and health administration.

Students interested in UofSC's Pharm.D./MHIT program must apply for admission to the Graduate School. In addition to completing the application, you’ll submit the PCAT score you used to gain admission to the professional Pharm.D. program.

Although the MHIT program has traditionally required a bachelor’s degree, the IIT has agreed to accept Pharm.D. students who have completed the pre-pharmacy curriculum and the first two professional years of the Pharm.D. program. You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to apply to the MHIT program. Students are admitted to the program once per year in the fall semester.

You are eligible to begin the MHIT program as early as the fall semester of your third professional year in the Pharm.D. program. A majority of the MHIT curriculum can be completed in concert with the Pharm.D. curriculum. You will complete the remaining MHIT curriculum requirements after graduation from the Pharm.D. program.
