Qualifications

Acceptance into the GPA Program is based on an applicant’s academic ability and aptitude for the study of pharmacy. Performance on the ACT or SAT and high school grade point average are two primary factors considered in the selection process. Other areas considered include extracurricular activities (e.g. leadership, service, employment) and honors/awards.

To be considered for entrance into the GPA Program, a student must:

  1. Receive acceptance into the University of South Carolina, Columbia Campus

  2. Declare the major B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pre-Pharmacy)

  3. Attain a minimum ACT composite of 27 OR  a minimum of 1280 on the SAT

  4. Earn at least a cumulative 3.5 high school grade point average on a weighted core

  5. Meet or exceed the required aptitude, abilities, and skills outlined in the USC College of Pharmacy Technical Standards

  6. Be free of arrests, convictions, or academic/judicial violations

  7. Complete a USC College of Pharmacy GPA Program Application and submit related materials

  8. Upon extended invitation, fully attend the GPA Program on-site Information Session and successfully complete interview activities with the USC College of Pharmacy
